Walks
- Our usual walk is circular. From the car park on Folly Hill, walk into the park to a path crossroads. Turn right, this will take you towards the town, past the golf club (where the toilets and refreshments are located), down to the corner near castle street. Turn left and pass the children's play area and continue to the end of the park, turning left again and up towards Hale. Finally at the top of the park, where there is often a coffee van, turn left towards the centre of the park and arrive back at the crossroads.
Description
- Farnham Park is a large area easily accessible from near Castle Street in central Farnham, skirting around Farnham Castle. It has a very appealing avenue of limes that leads to the castle and a large and excellent children's play area with a wooden castle, zip wire, swings etc. It is generally open grassland but the wooded glades, tree-lined areas, streams and undulating terrain makes this one of Nick's favourite places to walk in.
Wet weather
- All the paths are tarmac or at least stony, making this one of the best winter and wet weather walks in Surrey.
